Lavender

The "Lavender" eggplant variety represents a mid-early to mid-season large-fruited vegetable with unique coloring and fruit shape. Plants reach heights of 50 to 120 cm, depending on growing conditions, and possess a powerful root system and abundant foliage. Fruits differ in shape variety: from elongated and cylindrical to rounded with soft facets, colored dark-purple or white with delicate pink-lavender streaks. Eggplant sizes vary from 20 to 24 cm in length, with a mass of 200 to 600 grams, making them large-fruited and attractive for various culinary purposes. The variety is distinguished by good resistance to adverse weather conditions and diseases, although it requires attention to protection against pests and viral infections. Plants recover quickly after stresses such as temperature drops and drafts, making them plastic to agricultural practices. Cultivation is possible both in open ground and in greenhouse conditions, with a recommendation to observe a planting rate of no more than three plants per square meter for optimal development and yield. The fruits of the "Lavender" eggplant have a thin skin and tender flesh, which can be greenish or snow-white, without bitterness and with a minimal amount of seeds. They have excellent taste qualities, are well suited for home cooking, canning, and freezing, while maintaining taste and density. The crop withstands careful transportation and short-term storage in cool and dark conditions, however, it is recommended to consume the fruits immediately after harvesting to maximize enjoyment of their qualities.
