Thalys

Thalys F1 is an early-maturing hybrid of white cabbage, developed by the Dutch company Bejo Zaden. This variety features a short growing period — from 50 to 65 days after transplanting seedlings — allowing for early harvests. It can be successfully grown both in open ground and under temporary covers, expanding its cultivation possibilities in various climatic conditions. The plant exhibits adaptability and resistance to stress caused by high temperatures, as well as high resistance to diseases such as fusarium, bacterial blight, and cabbage yellows. The heads of Thalys F1 cabbage are round, dense, with a small core and weigh between 1.5 to 3 kg. The leaves are light green with a waxy coating, tender and succulent, possessing excellent flavor — crisp, slightly sweet, and free of bitterness. Due to its compact shape and dense heads, the cabbage is easy to transport and suitable for retail sale in supermarkets and food service establishments. The variety is characterized by high uniformity and stable yields, making it attractive for commercial cultivation. Thalys F1 cabbage is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for salads, soups, and stewed dishes. It contains significant amounts of vitamins C, K, and folic acid, making it a health-promoting product. The harvest can be stored for up to one month, ensuring convenient market availability of fresh produce. Thanks to its heat tolerance and stable fruiting, this hybrid is actively used for second cropping, ensuring high yields of 35–50 tons per hectare.
