Description JAPANESE DWARF
The 'Japanese Dwarf' eggplant variety is a medium-maturing, high-yielding, and compact vegetable that is excellent for growing both in open ground and in greenhouses with film coverings. The bushes are compact, reaching a height of up to 40 cm, do not require shaping, and are characterized by a high fruit load. The recommended planting density is 5-7 plants per square meter. For successful cultivation, it is important to properly prepare the seedlings: seeds are germinated in individual pots with moistened soil containing organic fertilizers, at a temperature not lower than 25 degrees and with good lighting. After two months, the seedlings are transplanted into prepared holes, which should be twice the size of the pots with the plants. During the vegetation period, fertilization with potassium and phosphorus, regular soil moistening, and weed and pest control are required; if necessary, treatment with special compositions is applied, avoiding chemicals for three weeks before harvest. The fruits of the 'Japanese Dwarf' eggplant have an elongated or cylindrical shape, a length of up to 18-25 cm, and a mass of up to 300 grams. Their skin is thin, a rich dark purple color with a glossy sheen, while the flesh is creamy-white, tender, without bitterness or hollows. Due to these characteristics, the vegetables are suitable for various cooking methods: boiling, frying, stewing, baking, as well as for canning. The culture is distinguished by high yield, with an average harvest of about 0.7 kg per square meter. The variety is resistant to adverse weather conditions, making it universal for different climatic zones. In addition to culinary merits, the 'Japanese Dwarf' eggplant possesses useful dietary properties. It contains a significant amount of iron, manganese, and magnesium, which contributes to improving the condition of blood vessels and normalizing heart function. The vegetable is recommended for people seeking weight loss due to low caloric content and nutritional value. However, in the presence of kidney or liver diseases, its consumption should be limited to avoid possible negative consequences.
