The Blekki eggplant variety is a mid-season, hardy plant suitable for growing in open ground, under plastic covers, and in greenhouses. The bushes are compact, reaching a height of 60 to 80 cm, which facilitates care and harvest collection. A distinctive feature of the variety is the absence of spines on the calyx, making fruit processing and harvesting more comfortable.
Blekki eggplant fruits have a spherical shape and are distinguished by a dark crimson color when biologically mature. The flesh is whitish, tender, and without bitterness, making this variety universal for use fresh, in cooking, as well as for making caviar and pickling. The weight of the fruits varies, usually ranging from 220 to 250 grams, although some specimens can reach a mass of up to 700 grams.
The variety is characterized by good germination and is adapted to various growing conditions, including northern regions. Despite its hardiness, during hot weather the fruits may be somewhat smaller. For successful cultivation, soil preparation and adherence to optimal agronomic practices are recommended, which promotes the development of healthy plants and yields quality harvest.
