Eggplant CARNOSUTA

Italian Standard for Open Field Cultivation

The «Karnoseta» eggplant by La Societa Delle Scienze Umane S.R.L. is a choice for farmers focused on consistent yields in field conditions. Unlike greenhouse varieties that require a specific controlled microclimate, this hybrid was adapted by the originator specifically for outdoor cultivation. Its physiology allows it to withstand fluctuations in day and night temperatures, which is critical for producing marketable fruit without deformations.

Cultivation Practice and Harvesting

The primary task addressed by this variety is the production of uniform, dark purple eggplants that are in high demand in retail and wholesale markets. When grown in open fields, «Karnoseta» demonstrates the following advantages:

• High soil adaptability: the crop effectively utilizes available nutrients under proper fertilization schedules.
• Transportability: the dense flesh structure allows for long-distance transport without losses, simplifying logistics from the field to the shelf.
• Color stability: the intense color is maintained even after prolonged time on the plant, which reduces the reject rate during harvest.

It is recommended for farms utilizing drip irrigation, as the hybrid is responsive to regular moisture supply and fertigation. When planning your planting, it is important to adhere to standard open-field requirements for spatial isolation and crop rotation, which will allow you to fully unlock the genetic potential provided by La Societa Delle Scienze Umane S.R.L.
