RUSSIAN DELICATESSEN is an early-maturing and very high-yielding eggplant hybrid intended for growing in open ground, under film covers, and in greenhouses. The plants are compact, reaching a height of up to 80 cm, which facilitates care and harvesting. The fruits have a pear-shaped form, dark purple glossy color, and thin skin, with a mass of about 250-300 grams. The flesh is snow-white, tender, without bitterness and does not darken upon cutting, making this variety particularly attractive for culinary use.
The hybrid is characterized by high cold hardiness and resistance to temperature fluctuations, ensuring stable yield even in unfavorable conditions. For growing, sowing for seedlings is recommended in mid-February to early March, followed by pricking out seedlings and transplanting to open ground at the end of May according to a 40x40 cm scheme. During the growing season, regular watering at the root, 4-5 feedings, and surface soil loosening are required. Appropriate means are applied to protect plants from diseases and pests as needed.
RUSSIAN DELICATESSEN is valued not only for its high yield but also for its outstanding taste qualities. Its fruits are ideal for culinary processing, canning, stuffing, and making eggplant caviar. Thanks to its rich taste, tender sugary structure, and bright aroma, this hybrid stands out among other varieties and is able to delight even the most demanding gourmets, including children, for whom it is difficult to instill a love for vegetables.
