Description FROST
Frost is a medium-late variety of dill characterized by an elevated rosette of leaves and a spreading, highly leafy bush. The leaves are long, glaucous-green, heavily dissected with a waxy coating, which gives them tenderness and juiciness. Plants reach a height of 150-170 cm at the flowering stage and form large umbels. The weight of one plant at harvest for greens is 30-45 g, and for spices - 60-75 g. The variety is distinguished by its strong aromaticity, making it in demand for various methods of use. Frost's yield is high: at harvest for greens it reaches 1.7-3.5 kg per square meter, and at collection for spices - up to 4.0 kg per square meter. The plant grows quickly and is frost-hardy, which allows extending the period of use of greens. In addition, the variety does not form an umbel for a long time, which increases the collection period of young greens. To obtain a stable yield, it is recommended to sow from April to August with an interval of 10-20 days, and for earlier greens, autumn sowing is possible at the end of October - in early November. Frost is universal in application: it is used fresh, for freezing, drying, and canning. When freezing, dill retains all its best qualities and aromaticity, making it an excellent choice for long-term storage. Seeds are sown in the open ground to a depth of 1-1.5 cm, which ensures good germination and rapid growth of plants. Thanks to its characteristics and high yield, the Frost variety is suitable both for home growing and for commercial production of greens and spices.
