Blue Frost is a new, high-yielding, medium-maturing dill variety belonging to the group of aromatic herbs. The period from germination to market readiness is 30-40 days. The plants are bushy, spreading, of medium height, and well-leafed. The leaves are large, tender, juicy and possess a bright aroma, which makes this variety especially valuable for culinary use.
The plant mass at harvest for greens is 40-45 grams, and for spice harvest is 70-75 grams. Yield when harvesting greens reaches 2.4-3.5 kg per square meter, and for spice harvesting - up to 4.0 kg per square meter. Thanks to its characteristics, the Blue Frost variety is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for drying and freezing, which allows preserving its beneficial properties and aroma for a long time.
The variety is characterized by rapid growth and high cold hardiness. It does not form an umbrel for a long time, which extends the period of using the plants for greens. Sowing seeds is recommended in open ground to a depth of 1-1.5 cm. To obtain greens throughout the season, seeds are sown several times with an interval of 15-20 days. Winter sowing is also possible in late October - early November for an earlier harvest.
