Description SANTO
Coriander Santo F1 is a mid-season hybrid variety developed by the Japanese seed company Sakata. This variety is distinguished by its high resilience to various weather conditions, including heat, which prevents it from forming a flowering stalk (umbel) even under abnormally high temperatures. The vegetative period ranges from 30 to 50 days, allowing for two to three harvests of fresh greens per season. The plant forms a semi-erect rosette of leaves 50-60 cm high with wide, dense, smooth leaves of a saturated green color and dissected serrated edges. Stems and leaves are softer compared to ordinary coriander varieties, which improves the taste of the greens.

The Santo F1 variety has high immunity to bacterial and other diseases, as well as is undemanding regarding soil type, requiring moderate watering and loosening. It is suitable for cultivation in open ground, as well as in greenhouses or on balcony beds, demonstrating high plasticity to growing conditions. Yield reaches 1.3 kg per square meter, which is 3-4 times higher than that of variety coriander. Fruits are round, white in color, weighing 150-250 grams, protected by scales during harvesting.

Coriander greens Santo F1 are widely used in fresh form for preparing salads, side dishes, soups, and drinks, as well as in dried form as a spice. Thanks to its strong and pleasant aroma, excellent taste, and high productivity, this hybrid is ideal for the fresh market, processing, and freezing. The optimal soil temperature for seed germination is 20-25 °C, which ensures successful cultivation in various climatic conditions.
