Description BORODINO
Coriandrum sativum variety Borodino is a cold-hardy herbaceous plant with a vegetative period of 30-40 days and a biennial life cycle. The bush reaches a height of about 70 centimeters and has branched stems with a large amount of dissected foliage. Coriander greens, known as cilantro, are distinguished by their delicate taste and spicy aroma, while the seeds are used as a spice in cooking. Borodino coriander seeds are sown in early spring on sunny areas with moist soil, which promotes high yields. For a continuous harvest, repeated sowing with an interval of 15-20 days is recommended. The plant is characterized by its resistance to temperature fluctuations and high immunity to diseases, making it a reliable choice for growing in various climatic conditions. Sowing is carried out from March to July at a depth of about 1.5 cm with row spacing of 45×10 cm. Seed harvest is carried out from July to September. When growing, avoid planting on areas where celery, turnip, dill, parsley, carrot, and fennel previously grew to prevent a negative impact on the growth and development of coriander. Borodino coriander is widely used in cooking: greens are added to salads, soups, and main courses, sauces and marinades, and also used for flavoring baked goods. The seeds have a rich aroma and are used as a spice, however, they should be consumed in moderation. Due to their taste qualities and resistance to unfavorable conditions, this variety of coriander is an excellent choice for gardeners and agronomists seeking to obtain a quality crop of spices.
