Dill MASCARAD

Technological features of 'Maskarad' dill

The 'Maskarad' dill variety from Agrofirma Aelita is a breeding product focused on the fastest possible yield of marketable produce. The engineering design by breeders (Nastenko N.V., Kachaynik V.G., Kandoba A.V.) was aimed at reducing the vegetation period to 25–30 days, making this variety an effective tool for conveyor-style cultivation for the fresh market.

Biological potential and field characteristics

The main value of the variety lies in the high intensity of vegetative mass growth during early development phases. Unlike late-maturing umbellifers, 'Maskarad' focuses on developing a powerful leaf rosette. Key aspects for agronomists:

• Stable photosynthesis rate: the variety is adapted for intensive development under standard light regimes, which is critical for a short growth cycle.
• Leaf architectonics: the variety forms a compact, well-foliaged rosette, which simplifies mechanized harvesting and reduces losses during pre-sale preparation.
• Market liquidity: a high concentration of essential oils provides a distinct aroma, while the leaf structure maintains its appearance during transport.

Using 'Maskarad' in crop rotation allows for meeting the demand for early greens within a tight timeframe. It is a classic choice for those operating on a 'sowing — conveyor — sales' model, where every day of delay directly impacts the profitability per hectare.
