CHELYABINSK METEORITE

Chelyabinsk Meteorite is a unique daikon variety, distinguished by its bright pink flesh and snow-white skin, which give the root vegetable an almost artistic appearance. The vegetable has a tender taste, without spiciness, with a spicy-sweet undertone; the texture is juicy and crunchy, making it ideal both fresh and in salads.

The variety is characterized by high yield – up to 3 kg/m² at medium maturity, while the period from sowing to the beginning of commercial readiness is only 65 days. Daikon grows in open and protected ground and is easily pulled from the soil due to the dense root vegetable "coat." Frost resistance allows its use even in cold climatic conditions.

The nutritional value of daikon is high: mature fruits contain fiber, potassium salts, and pectin substances that contribute to the prevention of stones in the liver and kidneys. At the same time, the level of mustard oils and glucosides is almost absent, so the product does not cause spiciness or a bitter aftertaste. Thanks to these properties, Chelyabinsk Meteorite is suitable for both daily nutrition and therapeutic purposes – for colds, liver, gallbladder, and kidney diseases.

For growing, sowing is recommended from late April to the second half of July at a depth of 1.5–2 cm, with a planting density of 20×60 cm. After the appearance of 2–3 true leaves, the plants are thinned, and watering is moderate to avoid the development of diseases. The variety is resistant to bolting and bacterial soft rot, so it requires minimal care. Root vegetables can be stored in a dry cellar for up to two months without loss of quality.
