Daikon THE THIEVE SWALLOW

Technical Profile of the 'Solovey-Razboynik' Daikon

Developed by the Gavrish Breeding Firm in collaboration with the Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production (VNIIISSOK), this variety is a specialized cultivar designed for maximum root elongation in open-field conditions. Its biological architecture is optimized for deep-soil penetration, making it a high-performance crop for specific agronomic environments.

Structural and Agronomic Parameters

• Root Geometry: Elongated cylindrical shape with a reach of 40 to 60 cm. This physical dimension demands precise soil preparation; deep tillage is required to ensure the taproot can develop without resistance or physical distortion.
• Tissue Composition: The white-skinned root contains a dense, succulent pulp. The flavor profile is characterized by a distinct sweet undertone, resulting from the reduced concentration of pungent mustard oils, which sets it apart from traditional radish varieties.
• Growth Environment: Specifically engineered for open-field cultivation. Success with this variety hinges on soil drainage; given the 60 cm potential length, any water-logging at the lower soil horizon will inevitably lead to root rot or tip damage.

The practical advantage of the 'Solovey-Razboynik' lies in its capacity for high biomass accumulation under intensive agricultural management. By focusing on deep, loose soil profiles, growers can fully realize the 60 cm length potential of this cultivar. It is an ideal choice for both professional growers seeking product differentiation and experienced home gardeners focusing on soil-structure management.
