Golden currant Liaisn is an ornamental-fruit shrub with powerful, straight branches reaching up to 2.5 meters in height. The bushes have a slightly spreading crown up to 1.5 meters wide and a deep, wide root system, ensuring their stability and longevity - the plant lifespan is 30-40 years. Maple-shaped leaves and yellow flowers give the plant decorative appeal. Thanks to its frost resistance up to -25°C and drought resistance, the Liaisn variety can successfully grow in various climatic conditions and on any soil types. Liaisn currant berries have an oval-round shape, bright yellow or orange color with a glossy, thick skin. The size of the berries varies from 1 to 2 centimeters in diameter, weight reaches up to 4 grams. Berries have a dessert sweet taste with a slight tartness and pleasant currant aroma reminiscent of the flavor of gooseberry. They are suitable for fresh consumption and are widely used for making jams, jellies, compotes, berry drinks, juice, wine, as well as for drying and freezing. Berries are well preserved in the refrigerator and have high transportability, without losing their taste qualities. Liaisn currant is distinguished by high resistance to diseases and pests, which significantly facilitates plant care. Bushes begin to bear fruit in the third year after planting, and the harvest comes in July. The variety yield is high - up to 8-10 kg from one bush. However, for successful pollination, it is recommended to plant other currant varieties nearby, as Liaisn is not self-pollinating. Thanks to its hardiness, ornamental quality, and excellent berry taste, this variety will be an excellent choice for both amateur gardeners and commercial growing.
