Description DAR ORLA
The Orla Gooseberry 'DAR ORLA' is a late-ripening red gooseberry variety developed at the All-Russian Research Institute of Fruit Breeding by crossing the Roteshpletlez and Jonker Van Tets varieties. The bushes of this variety are vigorous, moderately spreading, and dense, with thick canes and large dark green leaves. Blooming occurs late, allowing the plant to avoid damage from spring frosts. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and resistance to fungal diseases, including powdery mildew and anthracnose.

The yield of DAR ORLA is high and stable, reaching from 2.5 to 3.5 kg per bush, making it suitable for industrial cultivation. The berries are large, weighing from 0.5 to 2 grams, red in color with a dry detachment. The clusters are long, from 8 to 16 cm, dense, and contain up to 26 berries, facilitating mechanized harvesting. The taste of the berries is sweet-sour, juicy, with a sugar content of about 6.7% and acidity of 2.68%, as well as a high level of vitamin C (53.7 mg%).

The variety is of universal purpose: berries are consumed fresh and also used for processing into jam, compotes, wine, jelly, freezing, and drying. Fruiting begins in the second year after planting, which allows for a quick harvest. Thanks to its commercial qualities and resistance to unfavorable conditions, DAR ORLA is a reliable choice for gardeners and farmers.
