Currant LISA

Breeding Heritage and Reliability

The "Lisa" blackcurrant variety is a product of rigorous breeding work by the A.G. Lorch Federal Potato Research Center. Developed in Russia, this variety was designed as a solution for growers who prioritize crop stability and resistance to the major fungal pathogens that frequently affect berry bushes.

Agronomic Profile

Unlike many demanding varieties, "Lisa" exhibits impressive immunity to anthracnose, septoria leaf spot, and powdery mildew. This significantly reduces the need for frequent chemical treatments, making the variety an optimal choice for both commercial farms and private gardens. The compact bush habit allows for denser planting, maximizing garden space without compromising productivity.

Ripening and Yield

The variety belongs to the mid-season ripening group. The period from active bud break to technical maturity spans 45–55 days. During this time, the bush produces characteristic black berries that boast both a commercial appearance and a balanced flavor. Due to its moderate vigor, bush maintenance is straightforward, with pruning and crown formation being predictable and efficient tasks.
