DescriptionKRASNOKUTSKY 41
Agropyron "Krasnokutsky 41" – a narrow-awned variety developed at the Krasnokutskaya Selective Experimental Station of the Southern-Eastern Branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Plant Breeding (NIISKH). It belongs to the Agropyron desertorum (desert) species and is characterized by short stem growth, a shrub-like bush form, and a spike length of approximately 6.4 cm; the flowering maintains a green coloration, while the mature grains are whitish.
The variety is distinguished by high resistance to drought, heat, and trampling by livestock. Thanks to these properties, it is suitable for cultivation in field and feed crop rotations even under limited water supply conditions. As a result of agricultural activities, including soil preparation, sowing, and harvesting at the wax maturity stage, high germination and product quality are preserved.
The key advantages of "Krasnokutsky 41" include increased productivity: the yield of green mass exceeds the regional average by 14%, hay by 16%, and seeds by 25%. This makes the variety in demand for both feed and grain sectors, ensuring a significant increase in fodder collection and enhanced commercial value.
