Agropyron desertorum "SUCCESS" is a narrow-awned variety intended for the production of green mass and hay, as well as for creating and improving hay meadows and pastures. The plant reaches a height of 100–115 cm, has a semi-loose bush shape of medium density, which ensures good yield under moderate growing conditions.
Key characteristics include high resistance to salinity, frost, winter, and drought periods. Stems are of medium coarseness with light brown nodes, leaves are soft and green. Inflorescences are complex spikelets linear-oval in shape, 8–9 cm long, seeds are 6–7 mm in size, elongated-lanceolate and light brown.
The yield of green mass is 269–280 cts/hectare, dry mass is 78–79 cts/hectare, and the number of seeds is 5.4–5.7 cts/hectare. The variety is tolerant to diseases and pests, which makes it a reliable choice for farmers. The sowing rate is 18 kg/hectare. Due to high feed quality (10–12% protein), the grass "SUCCESS" is suitable both for hay production and for direct use as pasture grass.
