Nogaysky 1 – a diploid variety of narrow-leaved lovegrass (Agropyron desertorum). Plants have an erect bush with medium stem length and light-green lanceolate leaves, without pubescence or waxy bloom. Height reaches 90 cm, and the number of tillers per bush can reach 50–65, which ensures strong bushiness.
Inflorescences are complex, straight, medium-length panicles, loose and light-gray, without rachis. Seeds are lanceolate and light gray in color. The bush has no rhizomes, and the average number of internodes is 4–5.
The variety is distinguished by high hay yield – 6.7 kg/ha and seed productivity – 1.6 kg/ha. Nogaysky 1 is drought-tolerant, resistant to trampling and dry winds, and possesses longevity, making it suitable for multiple mowing during the season.
