Description IVOLOGINSKY 68
Agropyron pectiniforme Roem. et Schult (crested lovegrass) is a grass from the family of Poaceae, widely used in agriculture due to its resilience and rapid growth. The plant is characterized by narrow gray-green leaves with slightly pointed edges and stems adorned with crested hairs at the top. Flowers are small, white or staminate, gathered into heads, and fruits are oval and covered with hairs.

As a plant component, lovegrass is used both to improve soil structure and to control weeds. Its dense cover allows suppressing the growth of unwanted plants, thereby ensuring more efficient use of land resources. Thanks to high adaptability to different ecosystem types – from meadows to coastal areas – lovegrass can be implemented in various agro-ecological schemes.

Variety 7304838 was admitted for use and registered in 1972, and also included in the register in 1977. It is suitable for cultivation in such regions as the Irkutsk region, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Republic of Buryatia, Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Republic of Tuva, and Republic of Khakassia. The originator of this variety is the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Siberian Federal Scientific Center of Agrobiotechnologies” of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
