Crested Wheatgrass LIDER G

Reliable yields on challenging soils

When selecting forage crops for arid regions or fields with poor soil composition, the 'Lider G' wheatgrass (Agropyron) from the FANC of the Republic of Dagestan proves to be a reliable workhorse. This is a choice for those who prioritize stability and predictability of their forage base over experimental hybrids with demanding growth requirements.

Agronomic reliability and disease protection

A major challenge in growing perennial grasses is fungal disease, which can decimate yields before harvest. With 'Lider G', the situation is more controlled. Its selection background, developed by I.R. Gamidov, M.A. Umakhanov, and D.M. Yusupova, was specifically targeted at resistance to stem rust and ergot. In practice, this means that even during periods of high humidity, the crops do not become a breeding ground for infections, which significantly saves the budget on fungicides.

Operational features

• Forage use: The variety shows excellent regrowth capabilities after mowing. This is critical if you plan to get two or three full harvests of green mass per season.
• Sowing quality: The seed material from FANC is characterized by high germination energy. Fields look uniform after emergence, without gaps, which simplifies subsequent weed control at early stages.
• Adaptability: The crop holds soil structure exceptionally well, making it an ideal option for grassing slopes or restoring degraded lands.

'Lider G' is forgiving of minor agronomic mistakes that might otherwise destroy more sensitive cereal species. It is a plant for those who value predictable results—knowing exactly how much haylage or green mass you will get at the end, regardless of minor fluctuations in the irrigation or fertilization schedule.
