Description ZPK 505
ZPK 505 is a late-maturing simple hybrid of corn (Zea mays L.), primarily intended for grain and silage production. The plant is tall with narrow or medium-width leaves, ensuring good photosynthetic activity. The ear is of medium length and thickness, cylindrical in shape, with a large number of rows of kernels. The kernels are intermediate in type, closer to dent, predominantly yellow in the upper part. The 1000-kernel weight ranges from 320 to 360 grams, and the starch content in the grain reaches 73%. The hybrid is characterized by high yield: average yields in the North Caucasus region range from 63.1–79.1 c/ha, exceeding the standard by 13.9%. The maximum grain yield recorded was 100.1 c/ha. The grain moisture content at harvest is approximately 25.7%, meeting standard requirements. ZPK 505 exhibits good resistance to lodging and stem breakage, facilitating harvest and reducing yield losses. Among diseases, the hybrid shows high resistance to southern gummy mold and smut, moderate resistance to bacterial blight and ear fusarium, and an average level of infestation by corn borer. Due to these characteristics and adaptation to cold growing conditions, ZPK 505 is a reliable choice for cultivation in the North Caucasus region, ensuring stable and high-quality grain yields.
