Description NS 510
NS 510 is a simple two-line hybrid of corn (Zea mays L.), intended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. The hybrid belongs to late-maturing varieties with medium or late flowering time. The plant is of medium height, with broad leaves slightly curved and having a small angle between the leaf blade and stem. The ear of NS 510 is of medium length and thickness, weakly conical, with a short peduncle and medium number of rows of kernels. The kernels are toothed, yellow in the upper part. The hybrid is characterized by weak anthocyanic coloring of roots, glumes, and silk, which is a feature of the variety. The main ear axis is located above the upper lateral branch and forms a medium angle with lateral branches, which are of medium length and slightly curved. The stem is weakly or moderately colored. The average content of dry matter in the grain is about 36.9%, ensuring high nutritional value when used for silage. The yield of normalized dry matter in the region averages 118.3 c/ha, with maximum values reaching 198.3 c/ha. NS 510 is distinguished by resistance to a range of diseases, including southern helminthosporiosis and blister rust, while infection by bacterial and Fusarium ear diseases is at medium and above-average levels, respectively. The hybrid also shows moderate resistance to the corn borer. Seed production is carried out according to international ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, guaranteeing high product quality and safety. Due to its characteristics, NS 510 is widely used for sowing crops and provides stable high yields even under drought conditions.
