Description ZERNOGRADESKY 354 MB
ZERNOGRADESKY 354 MB — this is a mid-ripening three-line hybrid of corn (Zea mays L.), developed jointly with the All-Russian Research Institute of Corn. It matures in approximately 115 days and is intended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. The plant is medium-height, tall, non-branching, with well-leafed leaves of medium width and curved shape. The ear is medium in length, thick, and weakly conical, with tooth-shaped yellow kernels containing a high starch content — 70-72%. The average number of rows and medium ear stalk length ensure good yield density and quality. The hybrid exhibits resistance to lodging and stem breakage, which contributes to yield preservation under adverse weather conditions. It shows resistance to southern helminthosporiosis and powdery mildew, as well as stalk rot, significantly reducing losses during storage and transportation. However, the plant may be susceptible to bacterial and ear fungal diseases, as well as damage from the corn borer, requiring appropriate agronomic measures for crop protection. The average grain yield in the region is approximately 54.3 c/ha, exceeding the standard level by 2.4%, with a maximum yield reaching 124.6 c/ha. Grain moisture at harvest is at an optimal level of around 27.2%. The hybrid is suitable for both grain production and silage use, making it a versatile choice for agricultural enterprises. Seeds of ZERNOGRADESKY 354 MB meet state standards and are accompanied by necessary certificates, ensuring their quality and safety during cultivation.
