Description DIANA MV
Corn "Diana MV" is an early-maturing F1 hybrid developed by Kazakh breeders from the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Cultivation. Plants reach heights of 205 to 300 cm depending on the growing region, with approximately 20-21 leaves on the main stem. The ears are weakly conical or conical-cylindrical, 24 to 26 cm long, with 16-18 rows of kernels and an ear weight of about 180-200 g. The kernels have intermediate coloring: yellow at the top, yellow-orange or red-yellow at the bottom, dent-shaped, with a 1000-kernel weight of 240 to 328 g. The kernel contains approximately 8.4% protein, 68.8% starch, and 4.1% fat. The hybrid is characterized by high yield and adaptability to various climatic conditions. Test results in the Central Chernozem and Middle Volga regions of Russia show a dry matter yield of 119.6–126.8 centners per hectare, while in various regions of Kazakhstan, grain yield varies from 69.7 to 107.2 centners per hectare. The potential grain yield may reach 11.0–11.5 tons per hectare, and silage yield — 52.0–65.0 tons per hectare. The hybrid is resistant to lodging, drought, and several diseases, including southern gummy mold, bacterial blight, and Fusarium ear rot, and is only mildly affected by common smut and corn borer. "Diana MV" is suitable for cultivation in various agroclimatic zones, including the Polesye, Steppe, Central Chernozem, and Middle Volga regions. The early maturity of the hybrid (89-90 days to maturity) allows effective use for both grain and silage production. High resistance to adverse factors and balanced chemical composition of the grain make this hybrid attractive for agricultural producers focused on stable and high-quality yields.
