SY TALISMAN

The hybrid maize SY TALISMAN from Syngenta is intended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and northern steppe zones of Ukraine, including irrigated areas. It is an early-maturing, simple hybrid with a maturity group of FAO 180, suitable for grain, silage, and meal production. The plant belongs to the Stay Green type, ensuring high green mass yield and resistance to lodging. Maize demonstrates strong initial development, rapid water absorption, and excellent response to high mineral nutrition, which contributes to achieving yields of up to 14–15 tons of grain per hectare.

Morphological characteristics of the hybrid include a cream-colored, dent-type kernel with starch content of 73–76%. The cultivation technology is conventional; the hybrid exhibits high cold resistance and stress tolerance. It has high drought resistance (rating 8), frost resistance (10), lodging resistance (9), and tolerance to diseases such as helminthosporiosis, ear Fusarium, root and stalk rots, and powdery mildew.

The recommended planting density at harvest is 50–60 thousand plants per hectare in the forest-steppe, 40–50 thousand in the steppe, and increases to 70–80 thousand on irrigated lands. The hybrid is suitable for early planting, late planting, and can withstand overcrowding.
