Sugar Corn DN Westa

Sugar corn hybrid DN Westa is a mid-season variety registered in Ukraine in 2016. This variety is recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones, ensuring its wide application under various climatic conditions. DN Westa is intended for grain and feed use, making it a versatile choice for agricultural enterprises focused on feed and grain production.

The hybrid features high yield, varying from 56.5 to 80.3 centners per hectare depending on the cultivation zone. The vegetation period ranges from 116 to 128 days, enabling effective planning of agronomic activities. At harvest, grain moisture levels are within 16.1–22.2%, and the grain yield after milling reaches 79–82%, indicating high productivity and quality of the harvest.

DN Westa exhibits high resistance to drought, diseases, and pests, including the bubble leaf spot of corn, with resistance ratings of 8–9 and 9 out of 9. Protein content in the grain ranges from 9.0–9.3%, and starch content is 73.1–74.0%, ensuring good quality feedstock. Thanks to these characteristics, DN Westa is a reliable and efficient choice for farmers aiming to achieve a stable and high-quality sugar corn harvest.
