DN Garant — an early-maturing, remontant hybrid of sweet corn with FAO 200, developed by MAIS selection. It is intended for universal use, including grain and silage production, making it popular among Ukrainian farmers. The hybrid is characterized by high yield potential, reaching 115–120 centners per hectare, as well as optimal plant height within 265–275 cm and ear attachment height of 90–95 cm. The ears have a cylindrical shape, 19–21 cm long, with 12–14 rows of yellow, dent-type kernels weighing 290–310 g per 1,000 kernels. Grain moisture at harvest is 14–17%, and grain yield after threshing reaches 80–82%.
The DN Garant hybrid is distinguished by high resistance to adverse environmental factors. It exhibits excellent drought and cold tolerance (9 out of 10 points), is resistant to lodging, and shows resistance to Fusarium, stalk rot, and ear rot diseases. Additionally, the hybrid is virtually immune to stalk borer, which helps preserve the harvest and reduces costs for plant protection. Due to its good water retention in kernels during maturation, DN Garant ensures a high-quality and stable yield even under variable climatic conditions.
The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones of Ukraine, including regions such as Zhytomyrska, Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi, Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipro, Rivne, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Khmelnytsia, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv. Recommended planting density varies depending on soil moisture: 50–55 thousand plants per hectare in areas with insufficient moisture and 55–60 thousand plants per hectare in areas with sufficient moisture. All these features make DN Garant a universal and reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality corn yields.
