Maize LG 30215

Technological potential of LG 30215

The LG 30215 hybrid by Limagrain is a balanced solution for farms aiming for a combination of high grain yield and biomass for silage. French breeding by the originator Semlim focused on plant physiology capable of enduring environmental stress while maintaining stable ear filling. The intermediate grain type ensures optimal moisture release during ripening, effectively reducing post-harvest drying costs.

Phytosanitary resistance and adaptability

A primary focus of the LG 30215 development was resistance to key pathogens. Genetic tolerance to common smut provides a solid foundation for crop protection. A significant advantage is its resistance to fusarium and onion stalk smut, which minimizes the risk of lodging and grain quality loss, even under challenging weather conditions during the late vegetative stages.

Sowing density recommendations

Given its mid-early maturation, this hybrid allows for flexible plant density adjustment based on the site's moisture availability:

• Under intensive cultivation with high moisture levels, a planting density of 70,000–85,000 plants per hectare is recommended.
• In water-limited conditions, the density should be reduced to 50,000–55,000 plants per hectare to avoid intraspecific competition and ensure well-filled ears.

The versatility of its end-use (grain/silage) makes this hybrid an essential hedging tool for large-scale agricultural operations, allowing for adjustments to harvest plans based on current market demand.
