The NK Simba corn hybrid from the company 'Syngenta' is a mid-early grain hybrid adapted for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine — from Polissia to the northern part of the Steppe zone. The vegetation period is 110-120 days, and the maturity group is mid-early. The grain is dent-shaped, which facilitates rapid moisture removal and reduces moisture content during harvest. The FAO of the hybrid ranges from 270-290, ensuring high yield potential under optimal growing conditions.
NK Simba is distinguished by high resistance to major corn diseases, including stalk and root rot, as well as high resistance to lodging. The hybrid demonstrates high yield stability and good plasticity, enabling successful cultivation in various agroclimatic conditions. The hybrid's cold resistance is rated at 7 points, and it also exhibits high drought tolerance, making it a reliable choice for regions with variable weather conditions.
The recommended planting density depends on the cultivation zone: 75-85 thousand seeds per hectare for Polissia, 60-70 thousand for the Forest Steppe, and 40-50 thousand seeds per hectare for the Steppe. The hybrid is not recommended for monoculture cultivation, which helps maintain its productivity and resistance. NK Simba has a well-filled ear with 33-40 kernels per row and 14-16 rows. The 1000-kernel weight ranges from 320-340 grams, further confirming its grain-oriented use.
