RAM 8143

The hybrid corn RAM 8143 is a simple modified mid-early maturity (FAO 260) variety, intended for grain production in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including steppe, forest-steppe, and polonie. This hybrid was developed by specialists of the agrocorporation 'Stepna' and registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties since 2016. RAM 8143 is distinguished by wide ecological plasticity, enabling it to demonstrate stable high yields under various sowing conditions and agronomic practices.

Hybrid plants reach a height of 220 to 270 cm, do not bush, and have 14-16 leaves on the main stem. The ear, cone-cylindrical in shape, is 23-25 cm long and is attached at a height of 65-70 cm from the base of the stem. It contains 14-18 rows of dent-shaped yellow-orange kernels with a red husk. The 1000-kernel weight is approximately 300-330 g. Pre-harvest plant density varies depending on the growing zone: from 45-55 thousand plants/ha in the steppe to 65-75 thousand plants/ha in the polonie.

The hybrid RAM 8143 is characterized by high complex resistance to major infectious diseases and pests, as well as lodging and stem breakage. It exhibits high drought tolerance and responds well to mineral fertilizer application, which contributes to achieving the potential grain yield of 12.5-13 t/ha (110-130 c/ha). The grain yield is approximately 81.2%, starch content — 71.1%, protein — 9%. High seed production profitability and adaptability make RAM 8143 an advantageous choice for grain production.
