MILLENNIUM MV

MILLENNIUM MV is a mid-early three-line hybrid corn (Zea mays L.) with a vegetative period of 114-116 days, suitable for cultivation as grain or silage. The hybrid is characterized by medium-height plants and high ears with long stalks and weakly conical shape. The grain has an intermediate type, closer to flinty, with yellow-orange coloring in the upper part, belonging to the yellow dent grain group. The tassel flowering time is average, and the tassel structure features medium length and number of lateral branches, weak anthocyanic silk coloration, and colored plant stem. The MILLENNIUM MV hybrid has good productivity potential and is adapted for cultivation in various climatic zones, including forest-steppe, steppe, and polye. It is included in the State Register for the Central Chernozem, North Caucasus, and Volga regions, where it demonstrates high grain yield and normalized dry matter. In the Central Chernozem region, the average grain yield reaches 63.7 c/ha, exceeding standards, while in the North Caucasus region, the yield of normalized dry matter is 83.3 c/ha. In the Volga region, the grain yield also exceeds standards at 29.1 c/ha. Recommended for cultivation in the Stavropol Krai. MILLENNIUM MV is characterized by resistance to southern gelsporiosis and low susceptibility to common smut. However, the hybrid is moderately susceptible to stalk rot and susceptible to ear bacterial and Fusarium diseases. It is also severely damaged by stalk borer. These features must be considered when planning crop protection and agronomic measures to ensure maximum productivity and quality of harvest.
