CAUCASUS 575 MV

CAUCASUS 575 MV is a complex four-line hybrid of late-maturing corn with a vegetation period of about 125 days and an FAO maturity index of 500. The plant is tall with a strong stem of medium thickness, resistant to lodging. The ear is cylindrical, slightly conical, long to very long, with an ear weight ranging from 250–280 grams. The kernels are dent-shaped, yellow with a red core, and the 1000-kernel weight is 275–295 grams. Grain yield at harvest reaches 81–83%, ensuring high hybrid productivity. The CAUCASUS 575 MV hybrid is distinguished by high yield: under irrigation and with fertilizer application, grain yield may reach 95–115 centners per hectare, and silage mass — 475–500 centners per hectare. The recommended plant population is 55–65 thousand per hectare under irrigation and 45–50 thousand per hectare on dryland. The plant exhibits resistance to southern gummy ear rot and is only slightly affected by common smut, but is susceptible to bacterial blight, ear fusarium, and stalk borer infestation. CAUCASUS 575 MV was developed as part of the breeding program of the Institute of Agriculture of the Kabardino-Balkar Scientific Center of RAS, which focuses on developing and introducing high-yielding corn hybrids for various agro-climatic conditions. This hybrid is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region, confirmed by its adaptation and stable productivity in these conditions. Use of this hybrid contributes to increasing corn production efficiency and reducing dependence on imported seeds.
