Corn 'Catherine SV' is an early-maturing three-line hybrid intended for universal use, including production of grain, grain-stalk mass, and silage with grain content at wax maturity. Plants reach a height of 220-235 cm, with ears attached at a level of 75-80 cm. The ear is weakly conical, 18-19 cm long, containing 12-16 rows of kernels with a silvery-toothed structure and yellow or yellow-orange coloration on the upper part. The 1000-kernel weight is approximately 300 g, indicating high density and quality of grain. The hybrid exhibits good resistance to adverse conditions and diseases. It is resistant to southern helminthosporiosis and powdery mildew, although stalk rot during prolonged storage can reach 60%. It also shows moderate resistance to stalk borer and fusarium. Plants are characterized by good cold and drought tolerance, enabling successful cultivation in regions with limited growing seasons, including the Central, Volga-Vyatka, Central Chernozem, Middle Volga, Ural, West Siberian, East Siberian, and Far Eastern regions. The yield of corn 'Catherine SV' in the Central Chernozem region reaches 53.5 centners per hectare, meeting standards, while in the West Siberian region, the yield is 30.4 centners per hectare, exceeding standard values by 4.5 centners per hectare. Plants have light green coloration, good branching, and anthocyanin coloration of silk ranging from weak to moderate. The hybrid is resistant to lodging, which helps preserve yield and facilitates harvesting. All these characteristics make 'Catherine SV' a reliable choice for farmers seeking high-quality and stable corn yields under various climatic conditions.
