ZPTK 125

ZPTK 125 is a three-line hybrid corn (Zea mays L.) of early-mid maturity, intended for grain and silage production. The plant is tall, with medium-width and medium-length leaves, and cylindrical ears. The ear has medium thickness and medium-length stalk, with a large number of rows of kernels. The kernel is intermediate type, closer to starchy, with orange coloring on the upper part and yellow-orange on the lower part. The ear stalk is colored with anthocyanin pigment, which is a characteristic feature of the hybrid. The hybrid is registered in the State Register for the Central Chernozem region and demonstrates high yield: average normalized dry matter yield is 153.3 c/ha, which is 18.2% higher than the standard, and maximum yield reached 228.0 c/ha. The content of dry matter in the grain averages 44.5% in the region, which also exceeds standard indicators. The plant exhibits disease resistance: in field conditions, it shows mild infection by ear mold, fusarium, and common smut, as well as moderate resistance to stalk borer damage. Morphological features include weak to moderate anthocyanin coloring of the first leaf sheath, roots, and silk, as well as absence or very weak coloring of tassel spikelet scales. Flowering time is medium, and the tassel structure is characterized by a long main axis forming a small angle with lateral branches. These characteristics ensure the hybrid's adaptation to Central Chernozem region conditions and contribute to stable yield formation.
