Description KUBANSKIY 280 SV
KUBANSKIY 280 SV — a mid-early maize hybrid intended for grain production. It is registered in the State Register for the North Caucasus region and adapted for use in the Central agroclimatic zone of the Krasnodar Krai. The hybrid belongs to FAO 300 and matures for direct combine harvesting in the first half of September, enabling effective harvest planning. The plant is tall with broad leaf blades, and the kernels are toothed with yellow upper part.

The hybrid is characterized by high yield and resistance to gray leaf spot and stalk rot, ensuring stable and high-quality harvests. It is also resistant to blemish and Fusarium of ears, but susceptible to moderate infestation by stalk borer and severe bacterial disease. A distinctive feature of the hybrid is its high stem strength during autumn stand, reducing yield losses under adverse weather conditions.

The recommended planting density for optimal yield is 60,000 plants per hectare in the Central climatic zone of the Krasnodar Krai and 45,000 per hectare in the Northern zone. Seeds are supplied in quantities of 60,000 units, facilitating efficient planting planning. Over three years of testing, the hybrid demonstrated a yield of 1.1 centners per hectare higher than the hybrid KUBANSKIY 250 MV, confirming its high productivity and economic efficiency.
