AKSENTUS — this is a mid-early simple two-line corn hybrid developed by SOCIETE RAGT 2N S.A.S. and intended for grain and silage production. The hybrid features dent-type kernels with yellow coloring on the upper part, as well as intermediate kernel type, closer to dent. The plant is low with short or medium ears and stalk, and leaves are slightly curved with a small angle between the leaf blade and stem. Anthocyanin root and glume base coloring is weak or absent, which is a characteristic of this hybrid. Vegetative period is about 116 days, corresponding to mid-early maturity. Agronomic characteristics of AKSENTUS include high initial growth energy and good cold resistance, as well as high drought tolerance, making the hybrid adaptable to various climatic conditions. The hybrid exhibits resistance to stalk and ear Fusarium, as well as weak susceptibility to common smut. However, medium damage may occur from bacterial blight, white mold, and corn borer. Recommended plant density at harvest varies depending on the growing zone, allowing for optimized yield. AKSENTUS is recommended for cultivation in the Central Chernozem region, as well as in the Polissia and Forest-steppe zones. Average grain yield in the region is about 80.2 c/ha, which is 21.3% higher than the standard, with a maximum registered yield of 112.8 c/ha. Grain moisture at harvest is typically around 28%, which is lower than the standard. The hybrid is suitable for traditional herbicide protection systems and is packaged in 50,000 seed units, convenient for farmers aiming to achieve a stable and high corn yield.
