STELLA SV — this is a late-maturing simple hybrid of corn (Zea mays L.), developed by LLC Innovative-Production Agrofirm "Otbor" and recommended for cultivation for grain and silage in the North Caucasus region. Plants of this hybrid are very tall, reaching a height of about 250-270 cm, with wide leaves and do not bush. The ear is cylindrical, long or very long, positioned at a height of 90-100 cm, with 16-18 rows of kernels and 45-47 kernels per row. The kernel is dentate, yellow, with a 1000-kernel weight of 280-290 grams, and the grain yield upon threshing reaches 80-82%. The hybrid belongs to an intensive type and exhibits moderate drought resistance, well responding to high agrofond. The vegetation period is approximately 117 days, corresponding to a medium-late maturity period (FAO 450). The average yield in the region is about 53.1 centners per hectare, with the maximum grain yield reaching 132 centners per hectare. The potential silage mass yield is 450-500 centners per hectare. The optimal plant density on irrigated land is 70 thousand per hectare, and on dryland — 45-50 thousand plants. STELLA SV has good resistance to stalk rot and is weakly affected by common smut and moderately affected by ear fusarium. Anthocyanin pigmentation of the plant is weak or absent, characteristic of the sheath of the first leaf, roots, spikelet bracts, and silk. The ear has a red core with medium-intensity anthocyanin pigmentation. These characteristics make the hybrid a reliable and productive choice for farmers aiming to achieve high grain and silage yields in the North Caucasus region.
