KUBAN AIRY

Corn variety "Kuban Airy" is a medium-late popping type, intended for popcorn production. This variety features a creamy kernel with a white top, ensuring high quality and good performance when making popcorn. The plant height is medium, and the ear is of medium length with an unpigmented stalk. The tassel blooms in the mid-to-late period, with the main tassel axis positioned higher than the upper lateral branch, forming a large angle with it, and the lateral branches are long and curved, which is characteristic of this variety.

"Kuban Airy" exhibits resistance to several diseases, including southern helminthosporium, blister rust, and ear bacterial blight, contributing to stable yields and reduced losses during cultivation. However, the variety is susceptible to ear fusarium and severe damage by corn stem borer, requiring attention in agronomic practices and plant protection.

The average grain yield of this variety is about 21.4 centners per hectare, which is a good indicator for medium-late corn varieties. Due to its characteristics and kernel quality, "Kuban Airy" is widely used for popcorn production, providing high expansion ratio and attractive kernel opening form. This variety is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region, where it is adapted to local climatic conditions and soils.
