KRAZNOARSKIJ 452 AMV

KRAZNOARSKIJ 452 AMV — a mid-late maturing corn hybrid developed by the State Research Institute of Crop Husbandry of Krasnodar named after P.P. Lukyanenko and included in the State Register for the North Caucasus region. The plant is of medium height with a stalk height of 260-290 cm and ear attachment height of about 90 cm. The kernels are dent-shaped, yellow-orange in color, with a 1000-kernel weight of 295-300 g. The hybrid’s vegetation period lasts 118-120 days, corresponding to FAO maturity group 450. Grain yield at harvest reaches 79-82%.

The hybrid is distinguished by high productivity and adaptability, enabling stable yields of grain and silage both in southern regions of Russia and in the Central Chernozem region. Under optimal moisture and high agronomic practices, grain yield may exceed 100 c/ha, while silage yield reaches over 450 c/ha with dry matter content of 35-40% and starch up to 40%. A distinctive feature of the hybrid is the "stay green" effect — the vegetative mass remains green at the time of grain maturity, creating favorable conditions for silage use.

KRAZNOARSKIJ 452 AMV exhibits exceptional drought resistance and resistance to several diseases, including southern helminthiosis and blister rust. However, it shows moderate susceptibility to stalk borer and high sensitivity to bacterial and Fusarium stalk rot, as well as severe damage from corn stem borer. The hybrid surpasses its predecessors, such as Krasnodarsky 415 AMV and 425 AMV, in productivity and is recommended for grain and silage production under various soil-climatic conditions.
