Maize CAUCASUS 587 MV

Stable grain production in all conditions

Working with the "Kavkaz 587 MV" hybrid, developed by the Federal Scientific Center of the KBR, an operator immediately appreciates its predictability. This grain-oriented hybrid requires a disciplined approach to setting up the sowing equipment to maintain the recommended 20–25 cm spacing between plants. In the field, this distance is critical for the development of robust ears and full maturity, preventing unnecessary competition for nutrients.

Operational highlights

• Sowing: The hybrid responds exceptionally well to precision sowing. Maintaining the 20–25 cm density ensures that each plant reaches its full genetic potential, which simplifies harvest logistics later on.
• Maintenance: The crop features a stable stalk structure, minimizing the risk of lodging during adverse weather. This makes combine operation much smoother, as the header passes through without constant adjustments or increased losses.
• Harvest: Since the hybrid is bred for grain, it is optimized for high-quality threshing. The moisture loss rate is consistent, allowing for efficient logistics and drying scheduling without equipment downtime.

For an agronomist operating in the field, this Russian hybrid acts as a workhorse. It does not require excessive maintenance overhead, provided the sowing density guidelines are followed. The absence of excessive branching and the uniform ear development allow for a fixed cutter-bar height, increasing operator comfort and productivity throughout the harvest season.
