GORDEY is a winter barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety characterized by medium maturity and multi-rowedness. It is intended for grain-forage use and is distinguished by its resistance to lodging, which ensures crop preservation even during delays. The variety has medium winter hardiness and frost resistance, tolerates spring frosts well, and demonstrates good drought resistance, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including the North Caucasus region, the Republic of Crimea, and other areas with similar conditions. The GORDEY variety boasts high agronomic indicators: the vegetation period ranges from 224 to 260 days, the mass of 1000 grains varies between 34-40 grams, and grain natural density reaches 665-680 g/L. Yield on dry land is 40-50 centners per hectare, and with irrigation, it can reach 50-75 centners per hectare. Protein content in the grain ranges from 10.5 to 15.4%, ensuring high nutritional value. Grain glumellae content is 9.5–10.3%. GORDEY exhibits resistance to a range of diseases, including powdery mildew and brown leaf rust, as well as loose smut. At the same time, the variety is moderately susceptible to dwarf rust and susceptible to dusty and solid loose smuts.
