Corn Dnipro 472 MV is a simple modified hybrid developed by the Institute of Steppe Agriculture of NAAN of Ukraine. This mid-early hybrid with FAO 290 is characterized by high yield and adaptability to various climatic conditions, including drought and cold. Plants reach a height of 230-250 cm, have a strong root system and upright, lodging-resistant stalk. The cylindrical ear, 20-22 cm long, is positioned at a height of 80-90 cm, contains 16-18 rows of yellow-orange kernels, 34-40 kernels per row, and has a 1000-kernel weight of approximately 280-300 g.
Hybrid Dnipro 472 MV is suitable for cultivation as grain or silage, making it a versatile choice for farmers. The potential grain yield reaches 120-125 centners per hectare, while silage yield reaches 580-630 centners per hectare. The plant exhibits high resistance to major diseases, pests, and stress factors such as drought and lodging, confirmed by 9-point scale ratings. Additionally, the hybrid responds well to mineral fertilizer application and can successfully grow under dense planting.
Dnipro 472 MV is suitable for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine, including steppe, forest-steppe, and forested areas. The recommended pre-harvest planting density varies by region: 45-55 thousand plants per hectare in steppe, 65-70 thousand in forest-steppe, and 70-75 thousand plants per hectare in forested areas. Due to its plasticity, high productivity, and resistance to adverse conditions, this hybrid is widely used in agriculture for feeding various livestock, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield.
