The P9071 corn hybrid is a mid-early simple hybrid with dent kernel type and FAO 280. It features good early growth and high plasticity, making it suitable for cultivation in monoculture as well as various agroclimatic zones, including Polissia, Forest Steppe, and Northern Steppe of Ukraine. The hybrid is intended for grain and silage production and has a high yield potential — from 10.8 to 13.6 tons of grain per hectare under conventional soil preparation.
P9071 exhibits high resistance to lodging and main corn diseases such as smut and helminthosporium, with resistance ratings on a 9-point scale. Additionally, the hybrid shows excellent drought tolerance and water shedding, which promotes stable development and maturation even under adverse weather conditions. The recommended planting density prior to harvest is 65-70 thousand plants per hectare under favorable conditions and 60-65 thousand under unfavorable conditions.
For successful cultivation of the P9071 hybrid, it is recommended to avoid late harvesting, apply pre-emergence herbicides according to crop development stages, and use early or optimal planting dates. These agronomic measures enable maximum potential of the hybrid, ensuring high quality and quantity of grain and silage yields.
