The R9071 corn hybrid is a mid-early simple hybrid with dent kernel type and FAO 280. It features good early growth and high plasticity, allowing successful cultivation in various agro-climatic conditions, including the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Northern Steppe regions of Ukraine. The hybrid is suitable for both grain and silage production, demonstrating high yield potential — from 10.8 to 13.6 tons of grain per hectare under conventional soil management.
One key feature of R9071 is its high resistance to lodging and major corn diseases such as Stewart’s wilt and Helminthosporium, rated 9 on a 9-point scale. The hybrid also exhibits excellent drought tolerance and efficient water use, making it a reliable choice under variable climate conditions. Late harvesting is not recommended to preserve quality and maximize productivity.
For optimal cultivation, apply pre-emergence herbicides according to crop development phases and adhere to recommended planting dates — early or optimal. The recommended plant density at harvest is 65-70 thousand plants per hectare under favorable conditions and 60-65 thousand under unfavorable conditions. Due to its plasticity and resilience, the R9071 hybrid is well-suited for monoculture, simplifying agronomic practices and enhancing economic efficiency of production.
