Dneprovsky 223 SV

Dneprovsky 223 SV is a simple modified high-tech corn hybrid developed by the Institute of Grain Crops of NAAN of Ukraine. It belongs to mid-early hybrids with FAO around 290 and is intended for grain and silage production. Plants reach a height of 220–250 cm, do not branch, and have approximately 14 leaves on the main stem. The ear is cylindrical, up to 20–22 cm long, with a red cob and 14–18 rows of yellow-orange dent kernels. Ear attachment height is 80–90 cm.

Dneprovsky 223 SV features a strong root system, providing high resistance to lodging and stem breakage. The hybrid shows high resistance to major diseases and pests, as well as significant drought and cold tolerance. It responds well to mineral fertilizer application and maintains stable high yields across various agro-climatic conditions, including Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia. Recommended planting density varies by region: 50–55 thousand plants per hectare in Steppe, 70–75 thousand in Forest-Steppe, and 75–90 thousand in Polissia.

The hybrid is characterized by high technological efficiency and low pre-harvest grain moisture, facilitating storage and processing. Grain yield potential is 1150–1250 kg/ha, and silage mass potential is 5800–6300 kg/ha. Due to its adaptability and suitability for dense planting, Dneprovsky 223 SV is a universal and reliable choice for farmers seeking stable and high yields across various agro-climatic zones of Ukraine.
