Maize Dniprovskyi 273 AMV

Hybrid Technical Profile: Breeding Focus

"Dniprovskyi 273 AMV" is the result of long-term development by the Institute of Grain Crops of the NAAS and a breeding group led by Borys Dziubetskyi. From an agronomic perspective, this hybrid represents a mid-early corn type, adapted to the conditions of intensive farming in Ukraine, with a strong emphasis on consistent grain productivity.

Biological Protection and Stress Resistance

Unlike many international equivalents, Dniprovskyi 273 AMV was specifically designed with the phytosanitary conditions of Ukrainian fields in mind. The hybrid’s technical stability is based on genetically embedded defense mechanisms:

• Stalk Strength: High resistance to stalk rots minimizes lodging risks during late harvesting, which is critical for large-scale operations.
• Phyto-immunity: Breeders established an elevated threshold for resistance against boil smut and ear fusariosis. This allows for reduced fungicide application during the vegetative stage.
• Anti-entomological Barrier: Genetic resistance to the European corn borer reduces yield losses from secondary infections that often enter tissues damaged by the pest.

Agronomic Efficiency

The primary use of this hybrid is the production of high-quality commercial grain. A key feature of this line is its ability to maintain development rates during temperature fluctuations. In field conditions, this manifests as uniform moisture release from the grain, which optimizes post-harvest drying costs. The use of "Dniprovskyi 273 AMV" enables farmers to mitigate production risks by combining high biological plasticity with robust genetic protection against pathogens.
