Dneprovsky 257 SV

Corn Dneprovsky 257 SV is a simple modified hybrid developed by the Institute of Grain Crops of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. This medium-early hybrid with FAO 290 features a strong root system and rapid early growth, ensuring good adaptation to various growing conditions, including dense planting. Plants reach a height of 200–250 cm, with ear attachment height of 80–90 cm and ear length of about 20 cm. Grain is toothed, yellow-orange in color, with 16–18 rows and 1000-grain weight of 280–300 g.

Dneprovsky 257 SV is characterized by high resistance to major corn diseases such as smut and stalk rot, as well as pests and lodging. The hybrid demonstrates excellent drought and cold tolerance, making it suitable for cultivation in steppe, forest-steppe, and Polissia regions. It responds well to mineral fertilizer application and exhibits high technological efficiency, including rapid grain drying at maturity and stable high yields.

Recommended for grain and silage production with potential grain yields of 120–125 ц/га and silage mass of 580–630 ц/га. Optimal planting density varies by region: 50–55 thousand plants per hectare in the steppe zone, 65–70 thousand in the forest-steppe, and 70–75 thousand in Polissia. Due to its characteristics and stable productivity, hybrid Dneprovsky 257 SV is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high yields under various climatic conditions.
