Maize Dolya

A Classic of Domestic Breeding

The corn variety "Dolya" is a significant product in the portfolio of the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of the NAAS. Unlike modern intensive hybrids that require strict control of mineral nutrition and chemical protection, this variety serves as an example of adaptive breeding focused on stability in Ukraine’s unpredictable climate.

Agronomic Profile

"Dolya" belongs to the mid-early maturity group. The stability of this variety is determined by its genetic ability to self-regulate: it is less demanding of the agricultural background compared to international counterparts, making it a preferred choice for farms with extensive cultivation technologies or limited budgets for inputs.

• Ecological Plasticity: The variety shows resilience to temperature fluctuations during the spring period.
• Application: Primarily used for grain and fodder production.
• Reputation: "Dolya" is rightfully considered a reliable "workhorse" among farmers who prioritize predictable results over excessive capital investment.

The institute's breeders have embedded a high potential for adaptability into this variety. It is a solution for those seeking a balance between production costs and yields, without pursuing record-breaking numbers at the expense of extreme input costs. The variety has proven itself well across various soil and climatic zones of Ukraine, confirming its status as a reliable tool for sustainable farming.
