Description Khmelnytskyi
Corn Khmelnytskyi — this is a medium-early simple hybrid developed by the Institute of Steppe Zone Agriculture of NAAN Ukraine. The plant reaches a height of 250–260 cm and does not form bushes. The cylindrical ear is 20–22 cm long, with 16–18 rows of kernels and 36–38 kernels per row. The kernels are yellow and dent-shaped, with a 1000-kernel weight of 280–290 g. The red ear stalk attaches at a height of 80–90 cm. The hybrid is intended for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones, with an optimal plant density before harvest of 50 to 85 thousand per hectare, depending on the region. Khmelnytskyi is distinguished by high resistance to lodging, drought, cold tolerance, diseases, and pests, scoring 9 out of 9 in each of these characteristics. The potential grain yield is 12–13 tons per hectare. The hybrid is characterized by intensive moisture release from the kernels and responds well to improved growing conditions, ensuring a stable and high yield with low moisture content at harvest. High seed productivity makes it attractive for hybrid seed production areas. Corn Khmelnytskyi is widely used in the food industry, particularly for producing cereals and other food products, due to its high protein and fiber content. The kernels are suitable for preparing various dishes, such as cereals and puree. The hybrid seeds are impregnated with Maxim 025 and a biostimulator containing eco-friendly paint without polymers, which enhances their quality and protection. Packaging is done in paper bags of 25 kg.
